Seventh Secret Trail.
This trail was first built by Ross Kirkwood in the early 1990's. Since then it fell victem to the elements and negect. In 2001 the NSMBA had a series of Trail days to bring this trail back to its former glory. Since then the hard work and dedication of Peter Morin and Dean Reid has made this trail the epic it is.
The entrance. Always a steep entrance and a victem of water run off from the road, the water bar helps to prevent the run off and prevent erosion.
Looking back up the entrance you can see how the trail has been reinforced with rock.
A low area that has been built up with rock.
The landing area of a drop reinforced with rock.
Cedar bridges are also used to protect the trail bed.
Ladder bridges are used on long stretches of low lying areas. This bridge was built in 2001 during a trail day.
Steps also help to prevent erosion by preventing channeling from water.
The following pictures are taken along the length of the trail. I will not explain each picture, but they are included to demonstrate the amount of volunteer labour that has been put into this trail. Each rock has been placed by hand.
While rocks are placed for riders to ride on, many people
avoid the rocks. Over time these areas area identified and further rocked
so riders stay on the rock. |

| Another rocked section often avoided by
riders. This area will be further rocked or cribbed to keep the riders
on the rock. |
This bridge was built in 2001. The stringers were made from fallen cedar that was brought from 200 meters to this area by four mountain bikers that were passing by as the bridge was being built.

At this point the trail enters a flat area. You can exit 7th Secret at this point or continue on the Leopard Trail.
