Same Game Challenge Announcement

For those of you who attended the AGM (or watched it online) you may recall I had a couple of “More information coming soon” placeholders under our Strategic Plan update for 2023. The time has now come where I can share the exiting news of the NSMBA being accepted into two exciting programs!

The NSMBA is 1 of 10 organizations in BC/AB to be chosen to take part in the Same Game Challenge created and run by Canadian Women & Sport. The Same Game Challenge “helps sport and physical activity organizations across Canada build their capacity to create more equitable and inclusive sportopportunities. During the Challenge, sport leaders will develop the skills they need to close gender equity gaps and create positive, sustainable change in sport.” This program aligns perfectly with our Strategic Plan priority of “Community Impact”, where we identified developing a “Trails for All” assessment tool as one of our goals. Luckily for us, an inclusion tool has already been developed and now we get the opportunity to expand our knowledge and implement the tool alongside other organizations and with the support of a mentor coach to guide us through the process. The program is ongoing over the next 6 months and once complete, we will have additional experience and a plan to continue implementing the tool on an ongoing basis.

Thank you to Canadian Women & Sport and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities for choosing us for this cohort! For more information on the Same Game Challenge, you can visit the website here.

We’re excited for what’s to come!
