There is no biz like show biz! This past weekend the NSMBA set up a booth the Vancouver Bike Show. For those of you who do not know the Vancouver Bike Show claims the title of Western Canada's largest Bike Show. Exhibitors from all over the industry including bike brands, local retailers, show specials, speeches, swag, were all there. Together with our friends from TORCA and SORCE, we represented some of the trail associations of the greater Vancouver area. Despite the sunny and warm weather, the show was well attended which gave us the chance to talk about trail maintenance, increase awareness that trail fairies are real and helped solving the mystery of what NSMBA could possibly stand for.
Our green tent, green tablecloth, a couple of our beloved ferns and a selection of trail building tools were truly eye-catching. The free candy did the rest to catch people’s attention. Throughout the weekend we had great conversations about the issues of trail building, our favorite trails to ride and informing people about ways to get involved withe the NSMBA as a way to support the trails we all love so much – be it biking, hiking, trail running, dog walking or otherwise!
We are excited about the upcoming – or should we say ongoing? – bike season. Expect a variety of events, parties, races, continued trail maintenance, new trail projects, improving parking situations and many more exciting projects from the NSMBA. See you out there!
