REGISTRATION CLOSES MIDNIGHT THURS MAY 31

On June 2nd, the NSMBA is proud to present the return of Wade’s Excellent Adventure to the slopes of Fromme Mountain.

Moving into its third consecutive season, this year’s event has plenty of new adventures and a completely new format with four individual stages, including the Mega-Enduro-Super-Avalanche!

The team event will host two categories of max 4 member teams in either the Corporate or Citizen division, with the winner of the Corporate division having their names engraved on the famous Fromme Cup.  That is, if you’re able to dethrone last years winners, Team Rocky Mountain Bikes: Kevin Calhoun, Colin Kerr, Mike Hunter & Greg Day.

Ride on and read on…

The new format for 2012 includes multiple stages: a Technical Time Trial, an All Mountain Mash Up, a Texas Hill Climb and finally the Mega-Enduro-Super-Avalanche which consists of a mass start with a strategic choice to be made by each team between one of two available courses revealed on the day of the event.  Each event will be a ‘best-ball’ format with the best time from your team roster being recorded.  Unique courses designed by Wade will challenge all levels of rider, rewarding strong technical riders with several observed gnar sections throughout the stages.  Failure to clean an observed section will result in a time penalty, thus giving an even playing field against XC powerhouses who may lack the technical prowess.

The spirit of the event will include all kinds of trail side surprises and some great trail karma as all proceeds will go to the NSMBA to be used to improve the trails on Fromme. Registration for WEA is now open until midnight May 31st.

There will be two categories, Citizen teams of max 4 riders, and Corporate teams max 4 riders.   There will again be a special category for 2 person teams. Registration is capped at 200 riders.

Rocky Mountain Bicycles will have a fleet of bikes at the ready giving you an opportunity to demo one of their bikes during the event.

The Fromme Cup is a locally made trophy composed of local cedar and highly polished aluminum bike frame gussets straight from the R & D department, complete with custom airbrushing.  In the honour of the Stanley Cup, it will display plaques engraved with the names of the riders on the winning team .  The winning team will hold a place in history, to echo in the forests of Fromme for evermore!
