Last year we began the transition to the new BC Societies Act by working with Lawson & Lundell LLP to generate new bylaws that would comply with the new act. Our goal was to complete the transition early, to enable us to share our resulting documents and experiences with other, often smaller, Trail Associations throughout the province.

The new bylaws were successfully adopted at our 2017 AGM, subsequently the NSMBA has shared them with over 30 Trail Associations across BC. We have received great feedback in having shared and supported in this way by making the transition easier and less expensive for others.

The Walsh Foundation via CHIMP has awarded the NSMBA $2000 to help offset our legal costs from this transition. We are proud to be included as one of 25 charities receiving this support. Check out the list!

We have also helped other organizations with their transition, multiplying the value of the dollars awarded. Thank you to the Shuswap Trail Alliance, Nelson Cycling Club, Kimberley Trails Society, Columbia Valley Cycling Society and the Penticton & Area Cycling Association for supporting our grant application with letters of support and sharing how our work has impacted and supported their work as advocates.

We value collaboration and a strong voice for the trails throughout BC: Trails for all, Trails Forever!
