NSMBA Community Guidelines

Our Values: Trails for All. Trails Forever.

The NSMBA is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to sustainable trails on the shared territory of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

These guidelines apply to all NSMBA platforms—social media, events, trail days, and community gatherings.

Be Respectful

  • Treat everyone with courtesy, on and offline
  • Welcome all riders and ability levels
  • No personal attacks, discrimination, or harassment
  • Keep language constructive and positive

Keep It Relevant

  • Focus on North Shore trails, riding, and community
  • Share trail conditions, safety info, and event details
  • Get approval before posting promotional content

Prioritize Safety

  • Verify info before sharing
  • Respect trail closures and report hazards properly
  • Never share others’ personal information
  • Don’t reveal sensitive trail access negotiations or private landowner details

Respect Our Environment

  • Promote Leave No Trace and sustainable trail use
  • Support “Ride Trails NOT Braids”
  • Don’t encourage trail damage or riding in poor conditions
  • Protect wildlife habitats and private property

Share Responsibly

  • Credit photographers and ask permission for photos of others
  • Don’t share content showing illegal trail building
  • Respect copyright and intellectual property

 

Prohibited Hate speech, threats, explicit content, impersonation, illegal activity, excessive trolling, or doxxing.

Reporting Concerns Email info@nsmba.ca or use platform reporting tools.

Give Back Share knowledge, support trail days, join discussions, consider membership.
