Grannies on Fromme is getting some long-overdue care…

Grannies is great! Challenging, awkward, with consequential moves. But it’s a little tired and in need of attention.

If old school tech isn’t your thing, you might be disappointed. But if you love creative technical riding (aka “jank”), you’ll be excited about what’s coming.

A team of experienced builders will be doing work on it, with permitted permission to do so, and in collaboration with the original builder. They don’t want drastic changes – just to dust off the cobwebs and update it for modern bike geometry (some sections are too tight for most current handlebars).

The DNV has given permission to leave existing lines open while providing alternatives. We’ll restore some existing lines while offering riders choices.

The work:
– Improve drainage
– Repair rotten woodwork
– Realign features for longer bikes
– Reduce surprise obstacles on blind rolls

The builders understand this is a privilege with responsibility to preserve the heritage. This trail will remain tech and natural, worthy of its double black rating.

“We’re not changing Granny, just giving her some care. Remember to visit!”
