CMHC and RSTBC have shared the following notice regarding some survey work that will take place on the Blair Rifle Range Lands

“The former Blair Rifle Range, located in the Northlands area of North Vancouver, was used by the Canadian Armed Forces for rifle and small arms practice from the 1930s to 1960s.

While we don’t have any evidence to suggest that the range was used for anything other than rifle and handgun training, out of an abundance of caution and concern for our neighbours, the Department of National Defence (DND) will be conducting a site survey from February 18 to March 3, 2018.

Walking and biking trails will remain open while the investigation is underway, so you may see technicians walking through the woods with detection equipment, or digging into the ground.

In the unlikely event we find something serious during the site investigation, we will provide an update to local residents.

If you have any questions about the site survey, please contact DND by e-mail at UXOCanada@forces.gc.ca, or by phone at 613-943-7860. DND will be happy to answer your questions.”
