Norco Teams Up With The NSMBA

Norco Teams Up With The NSMBA

With a generous donation from Norco, NSMBA builders Mark Wood and Matt Preston replaced the aged bridge on Cabin Trail.  The bridge goes over a swamp area and had seen better days!  This bridge see frequent traffic from multiple user groups including hikers, dog walkers, and of course mountain bikers.

Approximately 80 feet of woodwork was created using thick cedar slats, stringers and massive (up to 300 pound) sleepers.  The new bridge is a solid construction boasting thick slats with rock armour placed at both the entrance and the exit.  We estimate this bridge to last another 15-20 years.

The NSMBA would like to thank Norco for their support of this project that improves the trail experience for many users.

TAP 2012 Mid Season Update

Arc’teryx gets down to business on the massive Dreamweaver reroute.  Trail building never looked so good.

Entering the second half of the year, the NSMBA Trail Adoption Plan has hit full stride.  Already this year, a tremendous amount of work has been completed with TAP collectively accounting for a total of 40 trail days to date.  An army of community driven volunteers have taken up the charge with shovels, pulaskis, Macleods and mattocks, led by 15 TAP Builders. Never before have the trails on the North Shore seen such a concentrated amount of work in such a short period.
