NSMBA Gear Swap – April 9th
The North Shore Mountain Bike Association's will host its 2011 Bike and Gear Swap on April 9th at Jaycee House in North Vancouver. Jaycee House is located at 1251 Lilloett Road.
This is a great opportunity to clear out your closet, garage, or basement and also pick up some great deals on new and lightly used equipment. Mountain, Road and BMX bikes and gear will all be on sale.
Drop offs will be handled April 6th, 7th and 8th between 5pm and 10pm at Jaycee House. Cost to sell is $2 per item with 15% of the proceeds from the sale, up to $120, going directly to the NSMBA. Cash and unsold gear can be picked up as of 5:30.
Admission is $2 from 11AM until 5PM. Early birds can get first crack between 10AM and 11AM for $5.
All money raised will go directly to the NSMBA, to be used for the maintenance of local North Shore trails. As always, volunteers are much appreciated. For more information about the sale or how to get involved; contact Rachid@NSMBA.ca
NSMBA, Hoots Inc. and the City of North Vancouver to formalize Loutet Jump Park
In March, the NSMBA applied for and received grant funding from the City of North Vancouver to start the process of sanctioning the Loutet Jump Park. Many cities across Metro Vancouver sanctioned skills parks, including Burnaby, Port Moody, Surrey, the District of North Vancouver and the District of West Vancouver, however the City of North Vancouver does not. The jumps at Loutet have been informally maintained by the community for a long time, and were an obvious first choice for this pilot project.
