Bobsled Ceremonial Opening Sat September 25th 11am
Join us for the Official Ceremony at 11am on Fromme at the Water Towers!
As many will have noticed this year, the District of North Vancouver's trail crew have been busy doing significant amounts of trail maintenance on Fromme and have also created a new beginner/intermediate masterpiece in Bobsled.
Please join the NSMBA, the DNV including Mayor Walton and the District's trail crew, and Member of Parliament for North Vancouver Andrew Saxton to celebrate the official opening of Bobsled along with all of the great work that has been done this summer. The official ceremony begins at 11am at the water towers, 200m past the yellow gates. Come for the speeches, enjoy the BBQ, and go for a ride! We'll have guides for beginner and intermediate riders starting at 11:30 and we'll have a photographer on Bobsled to take some shots of you and your friends styling it up! You’re invited to help with a final buffing of the trail at 9am before the event to continue some of the naturalization that we did last week! Please join us for the official celebration at 11am to let the landowners and the political dignitaries know that we are a large contingent of the greater community who use the trails on Fromme and look forward to contributing in the continued efforts on improving the trail systems on the North Shore.
Bobsled Temporary Closure
The heavy torrential downpours have taken their toll increasing substantially the flow of an underground stream under one of the berms and creating minor drainage issues at a couple other spots on the trail. At present, the DNV Trail Crew is working hard to reconstruct the berm in time for this weekend's ceremonial opening event.
