Spring Trail Update #1
Bookwus – Fromme
Spring maintenance on Bookwus is complete — all drains have been cleared, targeted trail tread repairs made, and a key section freed of loose rock and winter debris. 1st A Frame trail tread maintenance: exit to a-frame was getting rutted and a depression had formed. Rock armouring added to the run out zone and topped up with mineral soil. The area was the covered with organic material (tree needles, etc) to camouflage the repairs.
Bottletop – Seymour
Thanks to the volunteers power, two key improvements were made to Bottletop this spring. The tread was widened at a lower blind corner to improve sight lines and rider confidence, and a reroute was constructed around a badly eroded section where a washed-out fence had been causing ongoing issues. Both changes improve the flow and sustainability of this popular line.
Bridle Path – Seymour
TAP Partner Coast Mountain Trail Running
Work is underway on a short twinned section of Bridle Path, completed with DNV approval and now open for use. The line isn’t fully finished — the crew will be returning to top up mineral soil, complete drainage work and re-naturalize the surrounding area. Thanks for your patience while this section gets its final touches.
Corkscrew – Seymour
Corkscrew trail days rebuilt armour before coaster and added mineral soil to the landing. Stairs were built to give hikers a better option and improve support for the rock work leading into the coaster. Builder and volunteers also spent time raking the trail surface, repairing eroded sections, and clearing drains throughout — a solid amount of work that puts the trail in much better shape for the season.
Dale’s – Seymour
TAP Partner Comor & NS Ride
Almost all of Upper Dale’s received a proper spring rake-out this April. Volunteers shored up rockwork over sensitive wetland area with cedar to stabilize rocks and rock armoured an eroded section to help reduce future erosion.
Dempsey – Fromme
The junction where the climber trail meets Dempsey had been wearing down steadily under regular traffic. This spring volunteers dug out the rocks, brought the trail bed back up to its original grade with fresh mineral soil and tamped down properly so it holds, cleared the drainage bed, and enhanced the reverse grade to keep water moving off the trail. Solid, lasting work on a high-traffic spot!
John Deer – Seymour
A number of big days of infrastructure work have been completed John Deer: a new culvert and inside drain were installed to address a persistent drainage problem, multiplet berms were renovated, drains were dug out throughout, and the trail surface was smoothed with pointy rocks removed. The unglamorous but essential work that gets this high traffic trail back to it’s best.

Kirkford – Fromme
The lower third of Kirkford got a thorough spruce up this spring: marble rock debris swept from the trail bed, drains cleared and improved, reverse grades enhanced for better water shedding, with two berms refreshed. The kind of work makes a real difference in how the trail rides after wet weather.
Meat Sweats – Cypress
TAP Partner: Norco
The March trail day on Lower Meat Sweats saw four more beams rebuilt, picking up directly where February’s session left off. The feature build is progressing well — stay tuned for more updates as the work continues.
Lower Digger – Fromme

Lower Expresso – Fromme

A project that’s been building since early in the year finally crossed the finish line: the new ride-around at mid-trail is now open. The alternate line gives riders a smoother option past the tight, technical rock section that sees a lot of riders dismounting — a welcome addition that broadens the trail’s appeal without changing the challenge of the main line. Alongside the new feature, ground bridges were installed for drainage, eroded berms were repacked with mineral soil, and loose rock was swept from the riding surface. A huge thank you to the team brought out by Steed Cycles and Santa Cruz Bikes, whose support made the May trail day possible and got the new line across the line.
