On September 19, 2024, the District of North Vancouver (DNV) Parks team welcomed our dedicated Fromme-based builders and staff for an engaging and productive meeting focused on enhancing the Fromme Mountain trail network.

This insightful evening created a valuable space for our builders—those who know the mountain’s trails best—to share innovative ideas, discuss potential new connections and amenities, and help refine the priorities of the 2008 Fromme Mountain Sustainable Trail Use and Classification Plan.

The DNV recognized the significance of this collaborative session in informing and guiding future project planning. Insights gathered will play a key role in shaping the 2025 work plan, prioritizing projects that resonate with the mountain biking community. Plans are underway to further implement select recommendations from the 2008 plan, and the DNV is committed to continued collaboration with the NSMBA and other key stakeholders. Together, we’re working to align project deliverables with the community’s shared values and the Natural Areas Trails Strategy.

Advocacy work remains essential to our organization’s mission, as it amplifies the needs and values of our community in shaping sustainable, accessible trail networks. Through ongoing advocacy with all of our land managers, we ensure that our community’s voice guides future developments and promotes environmental stewardship. This vital work not only protects and enhances our trail systems but also fosters a thriving outdoor community that values and respects our natural spaces.

A heartfelt thank you to the DNV staff—Steffanie, Monica, Brad, and Kim—for organizing and leading this session and to all the builders who contributed their time and expertise. Your input is invaluable to the continued success of Fromme Mountain’s trails!

Trails for All. Trails Forever
