Established in 1988, the North Shore Community Foundation serves the geographic areas of North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Bowen Island and Lions Bay. The Foundation was created to support community projects and scholarships throughout the North Shore. At a ceremony in late November, the NSMBA were proud recipients of a $5,000 community grant from NSCF President Mike Boehm, which will be allocated to trail restoration and maintenance on Fromme mountain.
The NSMBA also received a North Shore Community Foundation grant last year, which was allocated to trail maintenance by professional trail builders, community outreach and public trail days, trail stewardship and community education on sustainable trail building. The results of this program reach a diverse cross-section of the community that includes dog walkers, families, hikers and nature lovers. Better trails = a healthier community!
