Metro Vancouver sanctions two trails on Mt. Seymour
Discussions between the NSMBA and Metro Vancouver have resulted in the trails "Lola" and "Cambodia" being officially recognized by the land manager. Both of these trails are rated as expert (double black diamond) and are recommended for only the most experienced and skilled riders to ride at their own risk.
All Access MTB Trail Begins
The NSMBA, working collaboratively with the DNV, has begun Phase 1 to create a barrier free All Access MTB trail on Fromme.
The NSMBA would like to thank lululemon for their support and funding for this project. We would also like to recognize the support from North Shore Bike Shop for their efforts to reroute the mid section of the trail as well as ongoing improvements part of TAP.
"As part of lululemon's sustainability initiatives, the metta movement is a program aimed at supporting grassroots community activities that encourage people to live active, healthy lives."
Phase 1 begins with a retro fit of Bobsled.
Lower Griffen Ascending Trail
A new climbing line has been created on Fromme with collaboration between the DNV and the NSMBA.
Thank you to Rocky Mountain Bicycles for hosting a public trail day in October. Facebook pictures here.
This is to be used by riders exitting from Immonator instead of descending on the Baden Powell. To clarify-all riders are to please use this to climb to exit at water towers.
It is an ascending only trail and is not built to handle downhill traffic as the corners are climbing corners, therefore too tight for descending and therefore will require heavy braking which will destroy the trail tread. Please help us work together as a community to keep it climbing only.
Please exit by the water towers. Please follow the new trail signage that leads bikers to the new trail head near the water towers. We ask for your cooperation with this to ensure continued positive relations with area residents as well as the DNV.
The area to the west has been deactivated by the DNV to alleviate sustainability issues, but primarily due to the infringement on private land. Please stay out of this zone as the forest rehabilitates.
Thank you to Devon Campbell for the creation of the map.
Please note: the water tower trail on the map refers to the one on McNair, not Mountain Hwy.

Redbull Hardline October 17, 2026See more details
Red Bull Hardline heads to beautiful British Columbia for its first-ever event in Canada, as riders prepare to take on this iteration of the world's most extreme downhill race at Cypress Mountain.
The unforgettable course at Cypress Mountain will be incomparable to other downhill bike courses, with elements borrowed from dirt jumping and BMX that are not allowed in the World Cup and other UCI races. These include massive jumps and gaps, steep drops of 10m plus, 'rock gardens', and steep descents.
You can catch all the action LIVE on Red Bull TV on Saturday, October 17. Want to witness the action in person? Tickets for Red Bull Hardline British Columbia will be going on sale soon! Check back soon for more information.
