Bridge Work Complete on 7th Secret

Bridge Work Complete on 7th Secret

Thanks to the money raised by Wade's Excellent Adventure, over 170 feet of rotted woodwork has been replaced on the Fromme classic, 7th Secret.  Peter Morrin is also actively repairing eroded sections, improving the ride from top to bottom.

The entry of the new section.

New work is a combination of slat work and 'punch ins' to keep in line with the challenge level on 7th and to save in the amount of slat work necessary and the limited supplies available.  This section is 120 feet in total.

Boogieman Trail Day #4 – Steed Cycles – Final Day!!!

Boogieman Trail Day #4 – Steed Cycles – Final Day!!!

Sunday September 11th brought the fourth and final trail day on Boogieman for the 2011 season. Backed by Steed Cycles and Giant Bicycle Canada, local builder Sean Gerke took on the task of maintaining Boogieman through the NSMBA Trail Adoption Program, and has since hosted four trail days mostly oriented around repairing structures which are on the verge of failing. This trail day’s goal was to replace two bridges after the swamp log which were beginning to rot, not to mention they were bad news in the wet.

September 23, 2011 – Deloitte Impact Day on Dreamweaver

The Deloitte team after a hard days work

On Friday, September 23rd, NSMBA President and Acting Trail Director Mathew Bond (that's me) led a crew of 20 volunteers from Deloitte up to Dreamweaver.

This is the fourth year in a row that Deloitte has supported the NSMBA's trail maintenance efforts with their Impact Day program. Every September, employees from Deloitte spend a day volunteering their time in the community, and what better way to spend the day than trail building!
