TAP Season End Party
On September 23rd, the Adopters, Builders, NSMBA Board of Directors and many friends in the community whose efforts shaped the work completed in the inaugural season, joined together to celebrate our collective accomplishments in 2011.
The clouds cleared and the rains seemed to stop on cue. Brent Martin from Ryder's donated the venue and Dorothy Luebke arranged the food. It was a night to recognize the efforts of all the volunteers who made the first TAP season a success.
The Honourable Mayor Walton was on hand to share words of inspiration and speak of the importance of mountain biking in the community and his support of the positive stewardship TAP has shown.
The NSMBA would like to thank everyone who joined us in the celebration and extend our thanks to all the people who made TAP a success in its first season.
Please read on to recognize those groups who participated in the 2011 season…
October 16th, 2011 – Dreamweaver Trail Day
Join us on Sunday, October 16th as we breathe new life into a well loved and well used trail. With the recent work on Executioner, the section of Dreamweaver between Baden Powell and Saint Marys has been taking a beating. Help us solve the ongoing erosion issues and make this trail super fun to ride!
Date: Sunday, October 16th, 2011
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Location: Meet @ 8:45am at the Upper Lynn Elementary School for coffee and shuttles to the trail head.
Bridge Work Complete on 7th Secret
Thanks to the money raised by Wade's Excellent Adventure, over 170 feet of rotted woodwork has been replaced on the Fromme classic, 7th Secret. Peter Morrin is also actively repairing eroded sections, improving the ride from top to bottom.
The entry of the new section.
New work is a combination of slat work and 'punch ins' to keep in line with the challenge level on 7th and to save in the amount of slat work necessary and the limited supplies available. This section is 120 feet in total.
